In State of Transience

More than decay or neglect, these photographs show a state of transience. Although a tranquillity emanates from them, we are looking at a constantly changing process. Nothing is permanent. The interaction between a human construction and its surroundings is a fascinating process that goes on indefinitely. The outcome cannot be predicted. This series grew out of my interest in taking photographs in locations or situations where, at first glance, there is nothing going on. The grey tones of the photos create a certain balance and harmony in the series.
